Poemsby Erin Marie Cosyn
Secret Admirer
I sit watching you,
wishing I knew if you watch me.
You enchant me
with your pretty smile
and darting eyes,
looking around for acceptance.
You look like you don't quite know if you fit in,
But you seem to want to.
And your words!
Your words are magical.
Your words open your soul
to me, like a teasing window:
I can look, but I cannot pass through.
How I long to know you.
We seem so alike, you and I.
How I wish I could talk to you.
You seem to be just like me.
You sit right next to me,
But it seems like miles that cannot be crossed.
The world is flat,
don't you know.
And if I crossed all those miles to talk to you,
I just might fall off the edge.
